Stockholm: Vasa Museum and Vrak Museum of Wrecks Combo Entry

About This Experience
One ticket, two museums, five minutes apart on Djurgården. The Vasa Museum holds the only nearly intact 17th-century ship ever salvaged - a 64-gun warship that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628 and spent 333 years in the harbour mud. Vrak, the Museum of Wrecks, is its opposite number: a digital museum about everything still down there in the Baltic.
The Vasa is the reason most people come to Stockholm's museum quarter, and it earns it. Eleven exhibitions ring the hull across multiple viewing levels, so you circle the ship from keel to masthead and see the carved sculpture work from angles a single floor could not give you. An audio guide is included, and there is a daily guided tour in English at no extra cost.
Vrak works differently and it is worth setting expectations: there are no wrecks on display. The Baltic's low salinity preserves timber better than any other sea on earth, and the museum shows what that means through VR dives, holograms, film and interactive exhibits rather than objects behind glass. Visitors who arrive expecting a second hall of ships are the ones who leave disappointed.
The combined ticket is the flexible part of the deal: you do not have to visit both on the same day. The second museum can be visited any time within 72 hours of the first, which makes it easy to split across a weekend. Note that a prepaid ticket does not give priority in the queue.

What Travelers Say
Rated 4.7/5 by 3,251 verified GetYourGuide travelers.
Museum visited in August. Very appealing. I recommend it. However, you have to book the first time slot, especially in peak season, because it is very crowded.
— Nathalie, August
Such an incredible experience! To see this up close and learn about how it sank and the preservation was amazing . I would go a 2nd time
— Candice, August
The very imposing, majestic architecture of the museum on 6 levels: it feels like being inside a ship. The incredible story of the wreck, which is one of the best-preserved in the WORLD. The imposing Vasa ship made of "solid wood", the impressive mast. All the illustrations that accompany this exhibition: other models and rooms
— Henriette, August
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to visit both museums on the same day?
No. Your second museum visit can take place any time within 72 hours of the first, so you can split them across two days. Both are open daily from 10:00 to 17:00, subject to change.
Are there real shipwrecks at the Vrak Museum?
No - and this is the single most common misunderstanding. Vrak presents the Baltic's wrecks digitally, through VR dives, holograms, film and interactive exhibits. The physical ship is at the Vasa Museum next door.
Is an audio guide included?
Yes, for both museums. The link is provided in your voucher, so bring headphones and a charged phone. Vrak also runs a daily English-language guided tour at 15:00 from the museum entrance, included in the ticket price.
Does a prepaid ticket skip the queue?
No. The operator is explicit that prepaid tickets do not give priority in queues. What you save is the ticket-desk transaction, not the entry line, so arrive early in high season.
How far apart are the two museums?
About five minutes' walk on Djurgården - Vrak at Djurgårdsstrand 17 and the Vasa Museum at Galärvarvsvägen 14. Start with whichever you prefer and show your voucher at the ticket counter.
